Good news for private vehicle owners!

On December 18, 2016, MMDA announced in a Facebook post that the Inter-Agency Council on Traffic (i-ACT) will be suspending the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) or Number Coding Scheme for private vehicles on Friday, December 23 in anticipation of the exodus of Metro Manila residents going to the provinces for the Christmas break.

i-ACT will also be lifting the UVVRP for all private vehicles on Dec. 26, a special non-working holiday; December 29; Dec. 30, Rizal Day; and Jan. 2, 2017, also a special non-working holiday. 

The traffic council also lifted the number coding scheme for provincial buses on the following dates: December 22 (starting 1 p.m.), December 23, December 29, and on January 2, 2017.
