Songs are effective teaching tools. Below are some of the continent songs I found in the internet. Teach your kids any of these songs and they'll know the seven continents in an instant! I used the first song to help my kids memorize the seven continents. I shared them the song and they learned it in a flash! It is really effective. They kept on singing the song during the first week that they learned it. Whenever I asked "What are the seven continents?," they would reply by singing the song.

1. Continent Song

(Sing to the tune of "Are You Sleeping")

Europe, Asia, Africa
North America, South America
Then there is Antartica
Don't forget Australia
Seven continents
Seven continents

4. The Continent Song

Tell me the continents. Tell me the continents. Tell me if you can.
North America, South America, Africa, Europe, and Asia.
Don't forget Australia. Don't forget Antarctica.
Tell me the continents, tell me the continents, tell me if you can.

5. The Continents

(Tune: “He’s Got the Whole World In His Hands”)

We’ve got the whole globe in our hands. (Extend arms in a circle as if a globe.)
We’ve got the whole globe in our hands.
We’ve got the whole globe in our hands.
We’ve got the whole globe in our hands.

We’ve got North and South America
In our hands.
We’ve got Europe, Asia, Africa
In our hands.
We’ve got Australia and Antarctica
In our hands.
We’ve got the whole globe in our hands.

6. The Continents Song by Mrs. Bee

(Tune: “The Muffin Man”)

Do you know the continents
The continents, the continents?
Do you know the continents
On our maps and globes?

North and South America
Africa, Australia
Europe n' Antartica
Asia's the biggest one

Do you know the continents
The continents, the continents?
Do you know the continents
On our maps and globes?

Ways to make the songs more fun

1. Have the kids tap the part of their bodies that correspond to each of the continents:

North America - Head
South America - Hips
Africa - Shoulders
Europe - Left Hand
Asia - Right Hand
Australia - Knees
Antarctica - Feet

2. You can also print each continent on seven separate papers and tape them on the floor. Your kids can hop on the continents as they are mentioned in the songs.

3. Alternatively, you can hang or tape the printed continents on seven chairs. Have the kids fall in line and put their hands on the shoulder of the kids in front them (as if forming a train). Tell them that you are going to "travel the world" by going to each continent chair as you sing.
